How to name your app

Your app’s name is the first impression you make in the stores, and you have very little time to catch people’s attention. A good name is memorable and helps you get more downloads.

Respect the store limits

• The App Store allows up to 30 characters for an app name.
• Google Play allows up to 30 characters.
• On the home screen, only around 12 characters fit under the icon.

Short name and store name

MobAppCreator lets you set two names. The short name appears under the icon on the phone’s home screen, so keep it to about 12 characters, like “My Great App”.

When you set your app up for publishing, you can add a longer name for the store listing. This is the name people see when they search for your app.
